I’m sure you’ll love to have spaghetti or carbonara for a dinner date or just a snack. Perhaps, it’s the best thing that you can do to save cash (for not dining out) and time, of course.

Steps To Cook Pasta In The Microwave

Here are the steps on how to cook pasta in the microwave:

 

Step #1. Preparing the things you’ll need

In this article, I’ll teach you how to be simple; there’s no need for you to get more stuff just to have your favourite pasta.

All you need is a boxed pasta, a bowl (make sure it’s microwave safe), and a huge plate. 

Yes! You only need three things. Well, you can be creative anytime. 

 

Step #2. Placing the pasta to the bowl

Get the bowl and pour a cup or a half of dry pasta therein.

Step #3. Filling the bowl with water

Just like the typical process, you have to pour water to the pasta. 

Make sure that you fill the bowl with water until it tops the pasta. 

The height of the water should be around an inch above the pasta.

By this reason, you need to make sure that you place enough water therein. 

Anyway, it’s not a problem if there’s an excess of water; you can drain it anytime whenever required. 

 

Step #4. Preparing to place the bowl and the plate in the microwave

Why do you think you need a plate? Well, the plate can catch the excess water when it starts to boil while cooking the pasta in the microwave. 

Place the bowl with the pasta on top of the plate. 

Now, put them inside the microwave. Start cooking!

 

Step #5. Cooking time

If you have the 100% Italian organic pasta as I mentioned earlier, you can wait for 10 to 12 minutes, which is the required cooking time.

It’s not that long, right? 

Regarding the setting of your microwave, set it to high. But, make sure you don’t over boil it. 

Once the cooking time is over, check for doneness. If it’s not yet cooked, just continue to microwave. But then, test the doneness every 30 seconds.

Step #6. Straining the pasta

After the pasta is well-done, strain out the water. 

Anyway, some people would prefer to leave a little water to avoid dryness while other people would strain out the water and wash the pasta with running water. 

I leave that to you; it all depends on you!

 

Step #7. Preparing the finished product

Now, you already have cooked pasta. Place it in a bowl or on a place. 

Of course, making your own sauce is a different story (we’ll discuss that in another article!). 

If you already have a sauce, mix it with the pasta, and you’re good to go!
